The Bear… in Rome: the city’s groundbreaking chefs

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while you’ll know that over the years at From Home to Rome we’ve been managing a few apartments in the area of Trastevere that’s north (roughly) of the Ponte Sisto bridge.
This is one of our favorite parts of the city center: it’s quiet without being boring, close enough to the bars and restaurants of the main alleys of the neighborhood but not chaotic, and still an area where gentrification is still relatively unheard of and yes, it is still possible to live like a local.
No wonder we jumped at the chance to work on this new apartment on Via San Francesco di Sales!
A recently renovated pied-à-terre, Sales 82 is a fully furnished space perfect for a couple on a romantic getaway, or a solo traveler aiming to explore this part of Rome without feeling too stressed because of the amount of other tourists at peak season. In fact, in the evenings it barely looks like Rome at all!
With views on the Janiculum hill, walking distance from the Vatican area and Campo de’ Fiori (by crossing the Mazzini bridge on the river Tiber) and with lots more landmarks around the corner, this is an astounding accommodation for someone who wants to live the Eternal City in a much more authentic way. Bars, restaurants and shops are within 10-15 minutes of this property, which is only lacking on the elevator side of things.. But with buildings this old, it had to be expected!
