Are you looking for an accommodation in the Termini area but feel nervous about the reputation of the main train station in Rome? Well, fear no more! The latest addition to our portfolio is in the lesser known area of this neighborhood, scattered with 19th century residential buildings and big boulevards lined with trees. Government offices and companies HQs are in this area, which is also close to such landmarks as the Biblioteca Nazionale (our National Library), the main offices of La Sapienza University and Roman remains like the Servian Walls and the Castra Praetoria.
In fact, the Castro Pretorio apartment owes its name not only to the subway stop by the same name but – first ad foremost – to the ancient barracks built for the Imperial guards to emperor Augustus, part of which are easily visible from the street across this apartment.
This flat is located on the mezzanine floor of a 1885 building. In spite of being on a lower floor it is rich in natural light, and can sleep up to 4 people. A very recent renovation brought back to life original frescoes on the ceilings, but the rest of the decor is decidedly contemporary. This property relies on independent heating, and the essentials-equipped kitchen has an induction stove and dishwasher (among other amenities, which include a large shower in the bathroom). Castro Pretorio also comes complete with a washing machine (no drying capabilities) and the second set of beds can easily be turned into one more double bed!
For those who want to visit Rome at their own pace and discover different areas of the city while being just a few minutes out of the center proper, Castro Pretorio can be an excellent alternative: neighborhoods like the gritty but creative San Lorenzo or the affluent Trieste are a short walk away, ready to be discovered! As always, the full description for this new apartment is available on our portfolio page!
